LinkedIn adds new features for students

LinkedIn recently added new features that make it easier for students to market their personal brand on LinkedIn even with limited work experience. In the past students have had a quite a challenge with LinkedIn profiles. To achieve 100% completeness a LinkedIn user is normally required to have an least 3 roles and most graduates won’t have this. With recent changes students can have a fuller LinkedIn profile even before they have started working.

LinkedIn has added some new sections that students can include in their LinkedIn profiles to show potential connections the work they did during their studies. They can include information on COURSES taken showing their marks, HONOURS and AWARDS received during the course of their studies, CLUBS or ORGANISATIONS that they were members of during their studies, PROJECTS that they carried out. All these options ensure that students who have distinguished themselves during their studies can show this on LinkedIn which could make all the difference on the highly competitive job market.
