Tell us a bit about yourself and your business or career (please include links to your websites)
An entrepreneur at heart, I love sharing knowledge with others who want to learn how to use social media to brand, position and market their businesses.

How long have you been on LinkedIn and how has been the experience like?
I started with LinkedIn in 2009 and began learning how to use the platform and use it properly. I use LinkedIn as a business networking platform and have had much success with it. Groups are a wonderful place to ask questions and give advice and I have had great interaction with these.

What are you doing to be visible on LinkedIn or this is not big priority for you.
I make it part of my daily routine, I make a point on networking and adding value with my network by sharing tips, and other advice.

Can you recommend at least 3 groups on LinkedIn and why?
Business Engage forum, as it is designed for local entrepreneurs who are just starting out and want to gain market ground. IWIB is an international women’s group who is very active in LinkedIn, they are dedicated to helping woman business owners across the globe.

What are the first 3 things you look at when you visit someone’s profile on LinkedIn?
I read their headline as well as their skill set, and take a look at their endorsements. Who has given them and what they have endorsed. I also take a look at their own documents if they have any.

How does LinkedIn fit in your career or business?
It’s a way for me to offer help to others who need help with social media  Nine times out of ten people who need help will ask for it and it turns into a business relationship.

How important is it to you to interact with your connections outside LinkedIn(via email, telephone, meeting)
Very. I also set up a meeting, if it’s a local business owner, I will arrange to meet for a coffee. If it’s an international I arrange a Skype or meeting online hangout.

How much time do you spend on LinkedIn every day or week and what do you spend the time doing on the site?
Daily I spend an hour on networking, and over the week-end update my profile from time to time.

Would you say you are a conservative or aggressive networker and why?
I am both, in some groups I am very active, in others I listen and ask questions.

What have been your biggest benefits of being on LinkedIn? (quantify if possible)
I have turned leads into business customers and have made close to five figure income in some instances.

Would you recommend whether someone should join LinkedIn with your reasons?
If my client deals in business and is trying to position their business online, I train them to use this platform to listen, engage and covert leads. I love the authenticity that LinkedIn offers and most professionals who want to network are waiting for you on LinkedIn. I highly recommend using this platform to network with.

What kind of advice can you give new LinkedIn members that are professionals and entrepreneurs?
Ask for guidance first, decide how you want to use LinkedIn and see if that plan works with your objectives first. Then look for people who can teach you how to use it and then implement the plan.

In your opinion how LinkedIn is different from other networks and what value does it offer.
LinkedIn is unique in the way you are able to tap directly to the decision maker of any business. Because it is a professional B2B platform where business and people network it gives you great insight into both the company and the person you are dealing with. It also allows you to network with others using groups and status updates, so sharing is key. LinkedIn has done wonders for my business, and would highly recommend it as a business communication tool.
